Joanne Loomba
Joanne is a member of the Steering Committee of Marriage Equality Silicon Valley, as well as a member of the Billy DeFrank LGBT Community Center. She helped organize phone banks for the No on 8 campaign, and has lobbied the state legislature in Sacramento on behalf of marriage equality.
Joanne is a Professor Emerita of Political Science at California State University, East Bay. She received her B.A. from Smith College in Massachusetts, and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Stanford University. She also studied at the University of Geneva and the International Institute of Higher Studies in Geneva, Switzerland.
Joanne lives in Cupertino with her partner, who is a retired CEO of high-tech companies. She enjoys hiking, dancing and traveling abroad. She is a member of the Center for Spiritual Living.
