Love and Marriage Rally in Sacramento, February 16, 2009
Two members of our steering committee arranged for a chartered bus to take MESV members and other supporters of marriage equality to Sacramento for a rally organized statewide by Equality Action Now and numerous other groups. Gathered on the steps of the capitol building, we heard prominent politicians and entertainers dedicated to equal rights. The entertainment included Wanda Sykes and Prop. 8 the Musical presented by the Sacramento Gay Men's Chorus. We were present throughout the day with two large banners and a booth, and a highly visible presence on a blustery day.
