Email Blast — June 25, 2010
Dear Friend,
Thanks to all those who attended the June 17 meeting at the De Frank Center. We got a special treat when Cleve Jones dropped by to give us some words of encouragement and help discuss strategy, in light of Judge Walker's upcoming decision in the federal Prop. 8 trial.
At that time, we decided that the community would have a demonstration of some type, but we did not yet plan details. Judge Walker's decision could come at any time and with very little warning, so we will need to act quickly. For that reason, there will be another meeting on Thursday, July 8, 2010, to discuss definitive plans for the event. This meeting will also take place at the Billy De Frank Center, 938 The Alameda, San José, and everyone is welcome to attend. Donations to the Center are greatly appreciated.

Marriage Equality Silicon Valley is very excited to announce that we will have a booth at the De Anza Flea Market on Saturday, July 3. The flea market is a monthly event, held the first Saturday of each month, and is a great way for the LGBT community to have a visible presence, where we can interact directly with our local community, and help change hearts and minds on the issue of marriage equality and many others. The flea market gets started early in the morning, and continues until about mid-afternoon, so be sure to drop by and say hello to our wonderful volunteers staffing the booth.
We can always use new volunteers too, so if you wish to help out, either at the July 3 flea market or subsequent ones, please contact MESV webmaster Dean Harpster at deanh@marriageequalitysiliconvalley.org.
