Email Blast — April 28, 2010
Dear Friend,
Although we sent an event update in yesterday's Email Blast, we were remiss for not including the following very important event.
The Rally for Just & Humane Immigration Reform will take place this Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Mi Pueblo Plaza, Story & King roads, San José. The event is sponsored by SIREN (Services, Immigrants Rights & Education Network); many other local organizations will be participating as well. Music begins at 2:00 P.M., followed by a rally at 3:30. A march from the site to San José City Hall will begin at 4:00, followed by another rally at City Hall, beginning at approximately 6:00.
Please see http://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2010/04/27/18645880.php for additional details, or contact César Juárez at (408) 421-2895 or cesar@siren-bayarea.org.
In light of the new anti-immigration legislation and sentiment coming out of Arizona, now is a crucial time to demonstrate the need for rational, sensible and humane immigration policies that don't put people's civil rights at risk or create a harsh system of punishment for nothing more than trying to forge a better life for one's family. Please circulate information about this event widely.

We have heard several reports that the link to the participating local restaurants in Thursday's Dining Out for Life program, sent in yesterday's MESV Email Blast, was problematic. Please try this link instead, on The Health Trust's website:

Thanks to Valerie for the suggestion!
