FINAL SUNDAY! Silicon Valley Phone Banking for Maine Equality, Sunday, November 1, 2009
Our final Sunday phone bank will be held on SUNDAY 10/25 from 1–5 at Equality California's San José Office. HELP US GET OUT THE VOTE IN MAINE FOR NEXT TUESDAY'S IMPORTANT ELECTION. No experience necessary, just bring your cell phone and charger. If you have one, please bring a laptop and network cable with your cell phone as we will be using the CallFire system this week to maximize our number of dials. Printed lists will be available for those that do not want to use the computer-based system.
Please try to arrive promptly at 1 PM for training. We'd like to get on the phones by 1:30 at the latest so that we can get as many calls completed as possible by 5.

Keeping the Faith for Marriage Equality
The Council of Churches of Santa Clara County is joining an interfaith effort to support marriage equality in an Interfaith Candlelight Rally on Monday, November 2, 2009, from 6–7 PM. Participants will meet at the First Christian Church, 80 S. Fifth Street, San José, and march to San José City Hall.
At the one-year anniversary of the passage of Proposition 8, we will stand together, not looking back — but moving forward — as part of a movement of faith communities across the state gathering this same evening!
Hear testimony from faith leaders, civic leaders, and youth. Through prayers from diverse faith traditions, lively music and sacred scriptures, we will Keep the Faith for equality for all people.
Support friends in Maine and Washington state as they face ballot measures the next day — election day — which would strip same-sex couples of relationship protections.
Please bring candles with glass or plastic protective cups so wax does not spill!
We will be inside the church if it rains.
Please download and help distribute the event flyer:

Many thanks to the Council of Churches of Santa Clara County and the event sponsors for organizing and promoting this important event.
Please come out and show your support!
