Dear Friend of Marriage Equality,
Marriage Equality Silicon Valley wishes to give a huge "thank you" to all those who turned out to support LGBT pride in downtown San José this past weekend. And a special thanks to those who stopped by the Marriage Equality booth and signed up to keep informed about the latest happenings with regard to marriage equality on the local level. Our volunteers staffing the booth were delighted to see so many friendly faces and meet new people.

The organizations who sponsored the booth — MESV, Peninsula Marriage Equality Coalition, Marriage Equality USA, the Santa Clara County Equality Team of the Courage Campaign, and the Rainbow Committee of the Santa Clara County Bar Association — are pleased to announce that with your help, we raised $208 in donations, funds which will be used to help offset expenses. A very special acknowledgment must also be given to Ray Hixson of Marriage Equality USA, who announced that he would match all donations received dollar for dollar, so that's a total of $416 raised. As June, the official National LGBT Pride Month continues, celebrations throughout the United States will take place, culminating in San Francisco's huge Pride weekend, June 27 and 28. However, our work here for marriage equality here in the South Bay goes on as well. There will be a meeting this month of the MESV Coordinating Committee to discuss strategy for the upcoming weeks and months. If you are interested in attending, please send an email to info@marriageequalitysiliconvalley.org. We are always welcoming fresh faces and ideas from the community, so please let us know if you'd like to help with planning and organizing.

MESV has no budget, and its volunteers finance all its activities, from printing to staging and participating in rallies, from their own pockets. All profits earned from the sale of merchandise help directly offset our expenses.
